How to Convert .m4a files to .mp3 using iTunes

I decided to write this after trawling through the internet for over an hour looking for a solution to my problem. I'm using iTunes version 11.0 and running on Windows operating system.

1. Change your file extension from .m4a to .3gp
2. Drag your .3gp file into your iTunes library
3. You need to do this step only once if you've not done this before:
Edit > Preferences > Import Settings > Import Using: MP3 Encoder (OK)
4. Right-click on the file in your iTunes library, then select "Create MP3 Version"
5. Once finished converting, the new file will appear beneath your original file. Right-click on this new file, choose "Show in Windows Explorer".
6. Copy this new .mp3 file to your desired location.

Hope this saved you time!
